Pedalers Express Seeks Apprentice

Pedalers Express, also known as PedX, the bicycle messenger cooperative, is seeking an apprentice. Essentially, an apprentice is someone who is willing to make a three month commitment to PedX in order to learn the business. Full membership/ownership can be obtained after three months. An apprentice must be able to envision becoming a full-fledged member down the line, which entails at least a one-year commitment and full responsibility for the business. Becoming an apprentice is not making this commitment yet. It is a trial. We are trying you out and you are trying PedX out, but the possibility must be there. If you are leaving town, going back to school full-time, etc. the apprentice role is not for you, although other roles might be.

PedX will provide: at least 15 hours of work and first dibs on any more available hours (there's always more work); wages starting at $11.00; and a work place where your opinions and ideas matter. You provide: working bike with low gears and good brakes; ability/willingness to give 4 hours volunteer time per week to learn about the business; the chance to become a member / equal partner of PedX within 6 months.

Commitment and care for the earth and each other are what we need as a company and a community.
